Grant Recorder
The purpose of the Grant
Recorder, is to take the guesswork out of curing the powder coating.
Thin light parts do not need the
same time in the oven as heavy thick parts, thick heavy parts need longer in the
oven than thin light parts.
This might sound obvious, but
mistakes are frequently made in this area, many company's applying powder
coatings have no method of ensuring the parts reach the right temperature, its
no use using the temperature gauge on the oven, that only tells you the
temperature where the thermo-couple is, it may even need calibrating!
The oven may even have cold
spots, if the air distribution dampers are not set correctly.
At Industrial Finishing
Specialists, no such guess work is used, we attach air and metal temperature probes
to the the work, and the probes are attached to the recording unit, the
recording unit is then placed in a thermos flask to keep it cool, then
everything goes into the oven.
This way we get a very accurate
reading of the product temperature and the oven temperature where the product
is.
As the substrate temperature
rises, the readings are recorded on a roll of paper within the device.
Once the readings have been
assessed, the correct curing time and temperature can be set for
production.
